hans74 has been busy in his first couple days. He makes a very controversial move in trading away the number 1 overall pick. They had a chance to acquire a stud for many years to come, and decided to trade it away. I like the trade for Washington as they could only win 2 games last season, and have many more holes on the team than one stud can fill. Washington had the worst rushing attack in the league last season. They averaged less than 30 rushing yards per game on 1.5 YPC, and had just two rushing TD's all season. The most important piece they got in return was a WR Lenny Moore. He put up over 1,500 yards last season as a WR. hans74 has decided to move him to RB, which is probably a good idea because they really need a RB. He has all the attributes to be a great RB or WR. However, his route running skills aren't that great, so it would seem that he would make a slightly better RB than WR. They also acquired their new starting LT in John Rogers who gave up just 3 sacks last season, a significant upgrade from last years starter who gave up 13, and had terrible run blocking skills. They also acquired their starting RT in Stanley Koch who gave up 6 sacks last season compared to last years starter who gave up 15 sacks. Chicago also gave up pick 1.27 in a fairly deep draft. I'd have to give the advantage to Washington here as they filled 4 holes instead of 1. jouameng must have his eye on someone to give up that much, but who is it. The top of the draft is full of high volatility bust potential guys. A TE seems to be the only sure thing at the #1 spot, but Chicago already had a starting quality TE. I have to wonder if jouameng planned on all the high volatility guys at the top of the draft, or if he was just being greedy knowing 1.1 was available.
